Tualatin Cooperative Preschool was originally established in Tualatin in 1974. In 1977, the school moved to Calvin Presbyterian Church in Tigard. The school name was also changed in 1977 to "Tualatin Valley Preschool" to reflect its broader area of service.

In June of 2001, TVP moved to its current location at Tualatin Presbyterian Church in Tualatin. Remodeling by the church added new classrooms, and the play structure was moved to the new location.
